You would think so, considering how sensitive the machine is to vibration. Any road work or heavy equipment movement along the linac service roads can cause problems. Operations has to be notified before any heavy work is done near the accelerator, otherwise the operators end up tearing their hair out looking for the source of the instabilities.
Then of course there is the San Andreas fault running under it as well.
